Sightseeing
The far Mid-West is where the Rocky Mountains meet the Great Plains, with the plateau being broken up by several mountain ranges. The natural vegetation of the grasslands makes this area a favourable place for livestock production. This is real ranch country! We stop en-route to visit several working ranches, providing an opportunity to see ranching as it really is, and allowing time for you to talk to our hosts over a barbecue lunch or dinner.
Weather
During the day we expect 25-30°C and cooler in the evening. This will be more comfortable than a similar temperature at home due to the low humidity.

Agriculture
We will take in a rodeo, which is almost a way of life in this region. Bison are seen at several places we visit, including Yellowstone Park, where they have to cope with the huge range of temperatures from -20˚C in winter to +30˚C in the summer months.
Crops such as cereals, sugar beet, hay and beans are grown quite widely, particularly on the lower plains, where they have access to rivers for irrigation.
Sightseeing
Our route takes us through Sioux Indian Territory to see the magnificent granite face of Mount Rushmore. There are many National Parks in this region and one of the most beautiful is Grand Teton, with its towering mountains. This park has a grandeur that has made it subject of countless photographs, drawings and paintings. We will explore the heart of Indian Country and the Wild West and travel through places like Fort Collins, Cody, and Cheyenne
