We are very excited to be offering this new cruise/tour for 2026, with a 2 night stay in the Rhone Alpes region of France before joining our luxury river cruise ship in Lyon and cruising along the Rhone River into the Provence region. The 2 night stay before the cruise allows us to include some interesting agricultural visits in the region, before enjoying the sights and sounds of this part of Europe from the comfort and luxury of your cruise vessel.

As we meander along the gentle and beautiful Rhone River, you have the chance to enjoy the scenery and all this region of France has to offer.

Agriculture

The Rhône-Alpes region is home to 1.2 million cattle, with one of the most popular breeds being Blonde d’Aquitaine, whilst the Bresse region is famous for its poultry.

There is a wide variety of diversification within the region, which is made up of the three distinct sub-regions: Rhône-Alpes; Burgundy and Franche-Comté. Each of these have a high number of small farms devoted to arboriculture, horticulture and viticulture. There are also larger enterprises involved in cattle breeding and cereal production.

The weather should be warmer than the UK and bright, but it can be breezy on the water so bring layers

Our Ship

The beautiful AmaKristina will be our home for 7 nights. All our cabins have floor to ceiling windows with a french balcony, so you can enjoy the ever-changing scenery however you wish. You can even upgrade your cabin if you would like more outdoor space.

More facilities include a fitness centre, sun deck & heated pool. Crisp tablecloths grace the tables in the Main Dining Room. With a stunning Main Lounge, tranquil library, massage and hair salon, and gift shop, you’ll never find a dull moment!
