Osmodos Village
Omodos village, a traditional wine producing village where the hospitality is legendary. We take a walking tour of the village before visiting a bakery for demonstrations and tastings of local breads including shoushukos, a traditional sticky dessert made from grape juice. We also visit a local vineyard and taste their fruitful wines.
Cypriot Agriculture
Our visits encompass a variety of agricultural enterprises & begin to understand the challenges of farming in this environment.
Cypriot farmers must contend with hot dry summers & limited water supplies, dependent on winter rains and irrigation.
Major crops in the region include grapes, deciduous fruits, potatoes, cereals, vegetables & olives. Preferred livestock tends to be sheep, goats, pigs & poultry. There is a small fishing industry and forestry is also prevalent in some areas.
Once more Bay Farm Tours scored
10 out of 10
with the Lake Garda holiday. I enjoyed every minute. The friendship and atmosphere amongst the group was exceptional.
Your Tour Manager never stopped working to make sure everything went according to plan, and it did, along with lots of fun and laughter, which made it
a wonderful tour
