Prague
Visiting Prague is a journey through centuries of history, with stunning architecture like Prague Castle and Charles Bridge. Lose yourself in the enchanting streets of the Old Town, indulge in delicious Czech cuisine, and sample the local beers. Don't miss the breathtaking views from Petřín Hill or the Astronomical Clock's captivating show. Or relax in Wenceslas Square and watch the world go by.
Agriculture
Key exports include wheat, hops and barley, along with meats such as pork and poultry, recognized for their quality worldwide. Czech beer, famous for its craftsmanship and flavor, is a standout export, as is the dairy sector.
Importantly, Czech agricultural exports prioritize sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Government subsidies and support programs play a significant role in promoting sustainable agriculture and rural development. Despite these modernizations, many still preserve traditional farming methods, contributing to the country's diverse agricultural landscape.
History
Czechoslovakia was only founded in 1918 at the end of the 1st World War. The country suffered at the hands of German occupation during the 2nd World War, before Czech communists supported by the USSR took control in 1948. Many will recall the brutal suppression by the USSR and the 1968 Prague Spring revolt. In November 1989 the communist era ended, and the country (became Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1992) is now well on its way to becoming an open democratic society within the new developing Eastern Europe, and its people are beginning to enjoy the personal freedom they could only dream about for 50 years.
Weather
In June, we expect mild to warm temperatures, with average highs around 23-25°C
Currency
The currency of Czechia is the Czech koruna or Kč. It's one of the most stable currencies in Central Europe
It is difficult to find words adequate to express our thanks
for the wonderful tour we have just experienced. It is great to go to another country and meet and talk to the native people to get a “feel” of their lifestyle and problems. The agricultural, sightseeing visits, and itinerary were so well organised. First class hotels,
a superb group of people, and weather to help, we doubt the tour could have been better.
