Highlights
The famous Snowdon Mountain Railway takes us up to the top of the highest peak in Wales. Weather permitting you can see across the expanse of Wales admiring the world famous view.
The National Slate Museum built in the shadow of Elidir mountain, is a sight to behold. Quarrying slate in north Wales spans over 1,800 years with local slate being used to build part of the Roman fort in Caernarfon and in Edward I’s castle at Conwy.
Agriculture
Welsh agriculture is predominately livestock farming with 86% of agricultural land being used for grazing livestock. Wales is known for its mountainous areas, along with having a wetter climate.
Wales is known for its sheep which were originally often horned with shades of brown or black wool and left to their own devices on the mountains, being gathered once or twice a year. More recently, through some scientific breeding, sheep have improved, and more are being exported to many parts of the world and form part of the blood line of various local Welsh breeds.
This is a one off letter as I have
never ever written to a holiday company before thanking them, but on this occasion I just had to put pen to paper, as it truly was a fantastic holiday. I can honestly say I enjoyed every minute. From the very first day to the last every day had its wonderful surprises. Thank you Neil and everybody at Bay Farm Tours for organising, being with us and helping us on all the interesting occasions throughout our tour.
